Fish Leong (梁靜茹)

Fish is a Chinese singer from Malaysia who has been around for over two decades. She made her official debut in 1999 with the album, 一夜長大, but it was actually her 2000 breakout hit 勇氣 that firmly established her as a pop star in Taiwan. She originally signed with the Taiwanese label, Rock Records where she quickly became known for her warm vocal style and songs with themes of love, heartbreak, and personal growth. This was also coincidentally the same time I had started getting into Chinese music thanks to the debut of a few other superstars, namely 周杰倫 and 孫燕姿.

Fish has received numerous accolades over the years and remains one of the few artists from her era to sustain both artistic relevance and commercial appeal by continuously releasing new music and participating in Chinese music-themed reality TV shows and competitions, similar to being a "coach" on "The Voice" here in the States.

Theory of Love Song Tour

In 2025, Fish launched her international "Theory of Love Song" tour. Theory of Love Song marks Fish's long-awaited return to North America, so you can imagine how excited I was to have a chance to attend something like this.

This tour takes Fish through major cities like Toronto (March 26), New York (March 28), and Los Angeles (March 31). It is cacked by a full live band, and the concert is obviously designed to be a rich, immersive experience blending orchestral warmth with intimate balladry.

Los Angeles isn’t just another stop. Fish hasn't performed at such an iconic venue in California in years, and fans from across the West Coast seem to buzzing with excitement, at least from what I could tell from online comments on Facebook and Instagram. When I was there, I could overhear that a lot of the audience had actually flown in from other countries specifically to attend the concert.

Dolby Theatre

Located at 6801 Hollywood Blvd, Dolby Theatre has been a premier entertainment venue since its opening in November 2001. With a seating capacity of about 3,500, a cavernous stage built for grandeur, and cutting-edge audio systems like Dolby Atmos, it provides an amazing ambiance.

The tour draws inspiration from her Sydney 2024 performances, featuring dreamy visual motifs, and artistic staging. Concertgoers can expect transitions marked by soft, blurred backdrops, and live horns that add sonic warmth and dynamic texture to her classic ballads. Combined with costume changes, cinematic video support, and direct audience interactions, the tour feels really polished and deeply personal.
